The president of the Venezuelan Federation of University Students, Danilo Diaz Granados, said students and workers will walk in defense of education and labor benefits in Caracas on Thursday, 25th of May.
Granados has undertaken work regarding free education and labor benefits for the university union, and subsequently called the march.
In a statement he said:
“We on Thursday at 10am will be doing a mobilization to ensure and defend our free and quality education.”
The rector said the university community will peacefully take to the streets:
“To defend the unquestionable right that university education is public and free for all youth in the country, and because we know the plans of the opposition to privatize the university.”
The march is expected to start at Plaza Venezuela, continue on Libertador Avenue and end at the Palace of Miraflores, in the presence of President Nicolas Maduro.
