Cancer has become very common as years progress, and according to Institute of National Cancer, the number is expected to rise. In 2014 the number of cancer patients in the U.S was roughly 14.5 Million and was predicted to increase to 19 Million come 2024 by the Cancer Institute. Cancer is a result of uncontrolled growth of cells. Surprisingly almost every cell is vulnerable, and this has brought about hundreds of different types of cancer including; Breast cancer, Blood Cancer, and many others. Fortunately, Tempus is a devoted Company whose intent is to fight cancer by providing precise treatment and care to cancer patients.
Eric Lefkofsky Co-Founder of Tempus Company is a committed man that has waged war against cancer. Eric learned of the big gap that existed in the treatment of Cancer patients and decided to rectify it by providing better healthcare services. He found that though a large quantity of patient’s treatment data got collected, there was no formulated method used to utilize that data to enhance treatment.
Lefkofsky discovered this when his lovely wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer and was following the quality of healthcare she got. It was a very traumatic experience for Eric since he had never had an exposure that was so close to patients fighting cancer.
Tempus got founded with the central aim of changing the ways and means that were used to treat patients by offering precise services that were more promising and effective on cancer patients.
To begin with, Tempus engineered a platform that analyzed molecular and clinical data of a patient that enhanced diagnosis and cancer treatment. The company also generated structured data from examined physician notes that were relevant to improve therapy in preceding therapy.
Eric believes that through technology doctors will be able to find the most effective treatment for a particular cancer patient.
Lefkofsky was born in September 1969 in Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan where he got high honors for his Ann Arbor degree and for his Juris degree he attended law School of Michigan.
Apart from his devotion to fighting cancer, Eric is also an assistant professor in Business School of Michigan University. Mr. Lefkofsky has practiced teaching through his years.
